Start Contacting Busy People
Remember: busy people aren’t selfish and inconsiderate; I’ve actually found the opposite to be true — that some of the busiest people are actually the most giving types of people. But they also want to be efficient with their time. Remember that the time they give to you is time they sacrifice from working on their own businesses or spending time with their families. So contact them in a way that respects this reality and impinges on their schedule as lightly as possible.
A lot of would-be entrepreneurs get stuck at this stage, because we’re not sure what do to or how to go about it. My best suggestion is to be an action taker and adopt a “ready, fire, aim” mentality. While there are some areas of business where you want to be a bit careful and analyze your decision and strategy, this is not one of them. Don’t obsess with getting your market validation right the first time.
After five years of running my own business, starting multiple websites, and engaging in a number of creative pursuits, I’ve come to realize that new business ideas are just a part of having an entrepreneurial spirit. What really matters is taking those ideas and actually doing something with them. I do believe there is a little bit of a formula when it comes to making a business work: a good idea, a lot of hard work, and a bit of luck all contribute to it.
